virtualDCS wins Veeam Innovation Award for second consecutive year

virtualDCS, a leading cloud service provider (CSP) and business continuity specialist, has been bestowed its second Veeam® Innovation Award at VeeamON 2024. IDC ranks Veeam Software as the global market leader for its data protection and ransomware recovery, protecting 20 million users of Microsoft 365.

From nearly 100 nominations, virtualDCS was amongst just six fellow Veeam Innovation Award winners — including three Veeam Cloud Service Providers (VCSPs), two platform vendors, and one reseller partner. The accolade comes one year after the CSP scooped a Europe-first from the global software giant, as well as being heralded ‘Best in Show’ for its CloudCover arm in 2023.

CloudCover is a purpose-built SaaS suite that enhances Veeam’s world-leading backup software to deliver a single pane of glass solution. It empowers organisations with end-to-end security, backup, and data immutability in the cloud. Now with the addition of CloudCover Guardian for Azure, virtualDCS further compliments Veeam's backup engine.

With complete, multi-tenanted backup and recovery capabilities – and without the need for any on-site installations – CloudCover Guardian for Azure provides a 360-degree view of firms’ Microsoft 365 configurations. By protecting the integrity of their Microsoft 365 data, organisations can safeguard their reputation, protect productivity, work towards achieving National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) compliance, and enhance the organisation’s cyber resiliency by storing this data in an air-gapped ISO 27001-compliant facility.

Richard May, CEO at virtualDCS and brains behind the innovation, comments: “As a business, protecting your application data is only half of the solution. To achieve true resiliency, you also need to consider how data interacts within the environment. Your business runs on processes, workflows, and policies that keep them efficient, secure, and compliant. Keeping every avenue in check is therefore critical.

“With attack surfaces constantly expanding, organisational responsibilities evolving, and threat actors getting savvier in their approach, having that 360-degree view of the Microsoft estate is non-negotiable. Better still, you need to know that, if the unthinkable happens, you can get it all back in an instant.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide a complimentary solution to the already strong Veeam software suite. And to be recognised for a second time in a row by the global software leader itself — not least alongside such esteemed industry peers — is a proud achievement.”

Jason Buffington, vice president of Research Strategy at Veeam said, “virtualDCS has consistently demonstrated exceptional innovation and commitment to enhancing data protection and business continuity. Winning the Veeam Innovation Award for the second consecutive year underscores their outstanding contributions and the strength of our partnership. We are excited to see how their solutions continue to evolve and leverage our Veeam solutions to keep businesses running and secure.”

Headquartered in Leeds, working with organisations across the globe, virtualDCS is trusted by leading names such as the IT support and cybersecurity provider ramsac, the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), and Achilles, the global supply chain risk management expert.
