CompTIA recognises outstanding tech professionals and businesses

Four individuals and seven organisations honored for excellence in leadership, innovation.

A select group of individuals and businesses have been honoured by CompTIA, the nonprofit organisation for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, for their excellence in leadership, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, service and innovation.

The annual UK & Ireland Spotlight Awards were presented here Wednesday night following a CompTIA Community UK & Ireland meeting.

“The United Kingdom and Ireland have a unique tech community that boasts some of the top talent in the industry,” said M.J. Shoer, chief community officer, CompTIA. “The winners represent the top trailblazers and innovators in the sector. The quality of entries was exceptional, which speaks to the high standards in the tech industry across the UK and Ireland. We are pleased to recognise these outstanding professionals and businesses that are working to advance technology across the globe.”

Individual recipients of the 2024 CompTIA Community UK & Ireland Spotlight Award include:

Claire Jenks, director, Jenks Creative, received the Future Leader Spotlight Award for making a demonstrable impact within a CompTIA Member organisation and showing originality as an entrepreneur.

Georgia Howlett, manager of cloud development, Pax8, received the Advancing Women in Technology Leadership Spotlight Award for her active leadership in the industry and her personal commitment to advocacy for women in technology.

Dan Scott, IT Nation community director, ConnectWise, is the recipient of the Community Leadership Spotlight Award for demonstrating outstanding leadership and impact to the community.

Mostyn Thomas, senior director of security EMEA, Pax8, is the recipient of the Cybersecurity Spotlight Award for his outstanding commitment, thought leadership and passion regarding cybersecurity, helping advance the resilience of the CompTIA Community as a whole.

Organisations receiving awards include:

inSOC, winner of the Advancing Diversity in Technology Leadership Spotlight Award – for its advocacy and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry that has positively impacted the lives and careers of others.

Start Tech, recipient of Solution Provider Spotlight Award for demonstrating leadership, excellence and innovation as an organisation and in service to their clients.

Pax8, winner of the Innovative Distributor Spotlight Award for making a significant impact on the industry through innovative new services and products that improve their partners’ experiences.

There were co-winners in two other categories.

Salesbuildr and Sophos, honoured with the Innovative Vendor Spotlight Award for demonstrating innovative approaches to their businesses, transforming their organisations, and their impact on the wider industry.

ITbetweeners and Network Group, presented with the Associate Member Award for providing outstanding service to the tech ecosystem, actively participating in CompTIA Community activities, and making a positive impact in the lives and careers of others.

The CompTIA Community UK & Ireland meeting attracted a diverse group of executives and leaders engaged in the technology channel, from managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), tech vendors, distributors and consulting organisations serving businesses of all sizes across the region.
