Acumen Cyber, an engineer-powered cyber security service provider, has expanded its presence into Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and appointed two new hires to support its ambitious target to become a top five UK MSSP in the next five years.

Graeme Lightbody has been appointed to lead regional growth in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, marking Acumen’s expansion into these new territories. He joins the team as Account Director, bringing with him over 20 years of sales experience, predominantly within Northern Ireland’s public sector. Graeme is committed to delivering tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and will leverage his expertise to help expand Acumen’s presence within enterprise and public sector organisations.

Isabella Whittle also joins the team as Digital Marketing Manager, bringing over five years of experience in digital B2B marketing. Isabella specialises in crafting and executing innovative digital marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and drive customer engagement. She will collaborate closely with Acumen’s Marketing Director, Jo McCallum, to support the company’s growth through innovative and impactful digital marketing strategies.

"We’re excited to announce these milestones in the Acumen journey. Graeme’s expertise will be crucial in driving our growth in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and we will leverage his sales experience to help strengthen the Acumen brand. Isabella will be essential in advancing our digital marketing initiatives to extend Acumen’s reach, build brand awareness and support our customer acquisition goals. These are exciting developments for Acumen, which demonstrates our continued success and that we are on track to realise our goals,” said Mark Robertson, CRO and co-founder of Acumen.

Acumen is one of Scotland’s most exciting cyber start-ups, which brings market-leading technology to the UK to help organisations combat their most complex cyber security challenges. Acumen offers clients a CREST accredited Security Operations Centre plus a roster of market-leading technology partners, which includes CrowdStrike, Elastic, Fortinet, and Sentinel One. This turns Acumen into one of the only MSSPs to offer such a powerful combination of world leading products to the UK market.

Acumen's core lies in its engineering excellence, adopting a unique approach that views security as an engineering challenge encompassing technology, processes, automation, and intelligent workflows, tipping the balance in favour of defenders.
