n2s, a rapidly expanding Technology Lifecycle Management provider, has appointed Rob Bolton as Chief Executive Officer.

With an extensive background in the engineering, recycling, and manufacturing industries, Rob previously served as n2s’ Operations Director, successfully leading operational improvements and strategic growth for the past three years.

As n2s CEO he is now responsible for driving and implementing n2s’ growth strategy. This is focused on maximising the expanding market opportunities for n2s core services encompassing technical sales, data centre decommissioning, and copper cabling granulation. Additionally, he will oversee n2s’ consumer IT device re-use and remarketing operations based in Reading and ensure n2s is closely aligned with sister company Bioscope Technologies to address the significant potential for PCB materials recovery, bioleaching and bio-refining.

Rob joined n2s in 2019 from multinational automotive engineering group Delphi Technologies (formerly Delphi Automotive) where he spent over 25 years having joined as an engineering apprentice. During his career at Delphi he held various domestic and international facing roles across engineering, facilities, operations and project management. Latterly, he was Head of Engineering – 2017/19 - and before this managed the company’s continuous improvement and efficiency strategy across its European production centres.

“I am excited to be leading our highly committed, talented and expanding team,” said Rob Bolton, CEO, n2s. “Together we will continue to set new standards for Technology Lifecycle Management and IT Asset Disposal with secure, accountable and compliant solutions for equipment and cabling de-installation, data erasure, asset refurbishment and reuse, and sustainable zero to landfill end of life disposal.”

He added: “The market opportunity for our circular and truly sustainable core services is considerable as enterprises and third party colocation data centres strive to balance their increasing usage and reliance on IT equipment with the requirement for more efficient, sustainable and compliant recycling and disposal solutions – we can support them every step of the way.”

Commented Simon Taylor, Chairman, n2s: “Rob’s strong engineering and proven operations background and deep knowledge of the IT recycling industry makes him ideally placed to lead the company’s next stage growth. He will ensure the company continues to operate and scale at maximum efficiency while also spearheading our drive for significant growth through seamless core services delivery to our growing blue chip enterprise and public sector client base.”

With formal qualifications in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management, Rob is a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering which he attained at Anglia Ruskin University.

n2s is an award winning and leading provider of innovative, sustainable Technology Lifecycle Management solutions. Each year through the recovery of retired technology across all domains - from mobile and workplace IT to data centre, network and telecoms equipment - n2s refurbishes, remarkets and recycles around 250,000 IT devices and components with none of the equipment processed being wasted. In the past 12 months n2s has securely sanitised 30,000 data bearing devices, refurbished and resold 4500 servers and recovered 200 tonnes of copper from telecoms infrastructure.
