Westcon-Comstor announces key executive promotions

Expanded remits within senior leadership team illustrate distributor’s focus on digital, data and cybersecurity.

Westcon-Comstor has announced a series of promotions within its senior leadership team.

The promotions underline the distributor’s focus on data and digital innovation, expertise in cybersecurity and commitment to internal mobility.

Russell Blackburn, who previously held a senior role on the Cisco-focused Comstor side of the distributor’s business, takes on the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Digital Sales. His remit will involve maintaining and accelerating adoption of Westcon-Comstor’s PartnerCentral marketplace, while more broadly working across the entire company to facilitate and enable its digital sales transition.

Atul Damani has been elevated to the role of Chief Data Officer, driving Westcon-Comstor’s data and AI strategy and the growth of partner-focused analytics offerings Intelligent Demand and Partner Insights.

Meanwhile Runa Macleod becomes Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, leading an international marketing function tasked with further embedding a data-driven approach that utilises creative production and cutting-edge tools and technologies to drive growth for partners and vendors.

Daniel Hurel is now Senior Vice President, Westcon EMEA Cybersecurity & Next-Generation Solutions. The promotion reflects Daniel’s major contribution to identifying and nurturing high-growth vendors, market segments and technology areas within cybersecurity, and sees him assume an expanded remit as the distributor looks to continue its exceptional recent growth in security.

“I am thrilled to announce these promotions and changes within our senior leadership team,” said David Grant, CEO at Westcon-Comstor. “Atul, Daniel, Runa and Russell have decades of experience between them within our business, and their expertise will be critical as we look to leverage our leadership in data, digital and cybersecurity to maintain and accelerate our growth. Relationships with our partners and vendors will remain crucial to our success, but increasingly these relationships will be enhanced through a solid data and digital foundation – hence our relentless focus and continued investment in these capabilities.”
