Onecom acquires Gradwell Communications to bolster cloud offerings

Onecom enhances its capabilities by acquiring Gradwell Communications, aligning with its growth strategy and expanding its reach in the UK.

Onecom, the UK's leading business communications and cloud specialist, has completed the acquisition of Gradwell Communications. This marks the thirteenth acquisition by Onecom since 2020, enhancing its position as a prominent player in the communications sector.

Gradwell Communications, known for its cutting-edge cloud technology and communications services, brings a robust portfolio to the table. Among its offerings are the business-hosted voice system (Wave) and an SIP network, alongside award-winning unified communications solutions leveraging 3CX and Microsoft Teams.

The acquisition allows Onecom to expand its geographic footprint via Gradwell's offices in Bath and Leeds and integrate its customer base. This opens up strategic benefits and opportunities for enhancing customer service and client satisfaction.

Darren Ridge, CEO of Onecom Group, commented: "The acquisition of Gradwell Communications is highly complementary to our ongoing expansion and diversification strategy... Gradwell’s reputation for delivering exceptional communication and hosted voice solutions, and customer service aligns perfectly with our ethos and strong customer-centric approach."

Jamie Ward, CEO of Gradwell, expressed his enthusiasm for the merger saying "joining forces with Onecom marks an exciting new chapter", noting the alignment of both companies' cultures and commitment to innovation and customer service. The partnership aims to enhance service delivery and forge a path towards greater value for customers.

Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Whiteley, Hampshire, Onecom employs over 700 people across the UK. It partners with industry giants like Vodafone, Zoom, Gamma, and Microsoft. The acquisition sees Onecom continue its ambitious growth strategy, backed by the private equity firm LDC.

Transaction advisories for Onecom were managed by Shoosmiths and K3 Tax Advisory, while Gradwell received support from Acuity Advisors, RSM, and Marriott Harrison.
