The need for AI services

inforcer streamlines Microsoft 365 management at scale, enabling MSPs to bring enterprise-grade security and productivity solutions to the Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) market. With the rise of AI presenting a significant opportunity, inforcer has entered the next phase of enablement, helping MSPs to develop secure and profitable Copilot services to meet the growing demand from SMBs. MSPs that can effectively productise and deliver AI services, will differentiate themselves from competitors and generate lucrative new revenue streams.

Copilot capabilities as a differentiator

Many MSPs currently lack the infrastructure and expertise to scale AI services effectively.  inforcer addresses this challenge with a Copilot-centred service model. Last year, the company released a Copilot Readiness Assessment tool to help MSPs evaluate the maturity of their customers’ Microsoft 365 tenants and provide targeted recommendations. inforcer was also the first multi-tenant vendor to support for Purview Data Loss Prevention policy management, essential as MSPs enter the era of AI.

Copilot Manager enhances these efforts, allowing MSPs to gain in-depth visibility into Copilot adoption and monitor Shadow AI usage trends across customer environments.

The Shadow AI opportunity

80% of SMBs employees bring their own AI tools to work, meaning that most SMB employees using AI at work are using unauthorised ‘shadow’ applications, and open-source AI tooling that increases the threat of data leakage. According to IBM, one in five organisations have reported a breach due to shadow AI, and those that used high levels of shadow AI observed an average of $670,000 in higher breach costs than those with a low level or no shadow AI.

While Shadow AI can introduce security threats, it also offers MSPs an opportunity to build scalable, recurring services. Proactive MSPs can educate customers on the risks of Shadow AI, identify usage patterns and potential vulnerabilities, and upsell the necessary data governance and compliance projects needed for security.

inforcer’s Copilot Manager capabilities

With Copilot Manager, MSPs can:

Increase visibility into Copilot adoption trends to identify power users and opportunities for further licensing, while highlighting ROI to customers.

Review Shadow AI trends, including number of users, top used apps, and volume of data transferred.

Identify Shadow app risks per customer to manage and mitigate harmful employee behaviours.

Upsell compliance using multi-tenant views to monitor Shadow AI usage and recommend security projects.

“MSPs need Copilot support now,” said Jamie Daum, CEO at inforcer. “Time is of the essence for MSPs to implement innovative solutions that capitalise on emerging AI opportunities, ensuring they stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market. Copilot Manager has already been trialled in beta by over 200 MSPs globally, and partners are already experiencing the benefits of Copilot Manager’s capabilities.”

Comprehensive support for AI

inforcer enables MSPs to support businesses at every stage of their AI journey. The Copilot Readiness Assessment helps customers just starting out to evaluate their AI maturity and strengthen their security foundations. For those already confidently leveraging AI, inforcer’s Copilot Manager allows MSPs to create scalable and repeatable services by monitoring Shadow AI trends and encouraging Copilot adoption.

“inforcer’s Copilot Manager provides the visibility we’ve been missing around Copilot usage across our clients’ Microsoft 365 environments,” says Darron Millar, Solution Director of BCN Group. “The combination of Copilot insights alongside Shadow AI usage is incredibly powerful, enabling us to balance value creation with real-world risk awareness. This data complements our managed security and productivity services and supports our initiatives around Copilot readiness and safe adoption. Having trusted, tenant-level insight means we can move beyond assumptions and provide customers with informed, actionable guidance on where to invest, where to control risk, and how to maximise return from Copilot.”
