Ocean Networks, Inc., the owner and developer of the South America Pacific Link (SAPL) submarine cable system, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Xtera Communications, Inc. for the turnkey supply and installation of the SAPL submarine cable system.

Emulex Corporation says that IRESS, a global provider of comprehensive financial securities and wealth management systems, is deploying the EndaceProbe™ Intelligent Network Recorder (INR) and the EndaceVision™ software suite to improve the network performance and security monitoring capabilities in its data centres, the first of which is located in Sydney, Australia.

The North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) has added Softcat to its purchasing framework in order to provide best value networking solutions to universities and other higher education institutions across the UK. The two-year contract and optional two-year extension has an estimated framework value of £60m, and will see Softcat providing networking software, hardware and services from vendors including but not limited to HP, Dell and Cisco.
