Imperva introduces high-throughput appliances

Imperva Inc. has announced the SecureSphere X8510 and SecureSphere X10K, its newest generation of hardware appliances that offer throughput of 5Gbps and 10Gbps, respectively. The new appliances address the need for data center security solutions that can protect the bandwidth-intensive, content rich applications that are prevalent in many enterprise organizations today.

“Our new hardware appliances are unique from most other networking devices in that they were built from the ground up as high-throughput security devices; security isn’t an add-on, it’s organic to the appliance,” said Mark Kraynak, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Imperva. “The new hardware appliances also demonstrate our commitment to providing our customers with the broadest range of deployment options, and to meeting the security requirements of enterprises running large-scale applications and processing high volumes of data.”

Because the X8510 and X10K appliances are built on a common hardware platform, SecureSphere customers that start with an X8510 can later upgrade their appliance software, transforming the platform into an X10K with up to 10Gbps throughput. In addition, existing SecureSphere customers now have the flexibility to consolidate their SecureSphere appliances by replacing them with new, high-throughput appliances.
