ACI Worldwide will expand its European data center operations with the opening of a new data center in Limerick, Ireland. The new facility will accommodate growing EMEA demand for SaaS-based payment solutions and the burgeoning market for its Universal Payments solutions, all while positioning ACI to better adapt to evolving regional regulatory requirements.
The Ireland facility, scheduled to open in the second half of next year, will become ACI’s premier European data center. It will be a fully redundant facility and will meet the most stringent security and compliance standards. ACI currently operates several smaller regional facilities in EMEA that serve hundreds of banks and retailers. Additionally, the company operates US data centers in Georgia and Nebraska that serve banks and retailers as well as biller organizations. This latest data center will serve current and future European customers as well as those in other regions.
ACI’s European expansion is part of the company’s overall global growth investment strategy, which also incorporates product investments—providing the necessary features and functionality for the numerous European countries and regions. This new regional data center capability further leverages ACI’s product investments to make its Universal Payments solutions available to European companies in a SaaS-based delivery model.
Today, ACI provides world-class hosted electronic payments, banking, and fraud protection solutions and services to more than 4,600 financial institutions, retailers, and billers around the world through a hosted SaaS business model. The ACI On Demand global team has been providing SaaS payment solutions to customers for more than a decade and processes more than 35 million transactions per day.
“An increasing regulatory environment and the ability to move quickly to address new opportunities are why thousands of organizations worldwide are utilizing our Universal Payments capabilities via our hosted environment—providing them the utmost in reliability, security and data privacy,” said Carolyn Homberger, Group President, ACI Worldwide. “As companies in the region increase their desire for SaaS-based solutions, we’re excited about this European data center expansion and enhancing our ability to meet those customers’ needs with world-class SaaS offerings.”
