Cloudian and ShapeBlue launch partnership to attack growing CloudStack market

Cloudian, provider of hybrid cloud smart data storage software, and ShapeBlue, the CloudStack company, have formed a partnership to drive adoption of object storage within organisations running Cloud services powered by Apache CloudStack. CloudStack is the most widely adopted open source cloud platform in production use by service providers and enterprises alike.

brightsolid, the cloud hosting and data centre service provider, has announced the successful entry on to the Scottish Government’s Hosting Services Framework. The framework enables public sector organisations to purchase hosting services from brightsolid, without having to go through a lengthy procurement process. A new report, European Cloud & Hosting Providers - the Top 250, produced by IT Europa, shows a steadily growing sector, with much of the growth coming through the independent companies rather than giant publicly-listed firms. The total revenues for companies in the report rose by just 1.5% in 2014 over the previous year, but reached €92bn in Europe.

Proact has been chosen to supply a new IT infrastructure system including, deployment services, consulting and 24x7 premium support to the housing loan company SBAB. This has considerably greater capacity and higher performance than the previous solution which it replaces at the company’s data centre. This system will primarily be used for internal file storage and for the development and testing environment.
