Using eight Carrier Evergreen®water-cooled chillers, the solution provides an energy efficient cooling application in line with Eni’s objective of minimizing the data center’s environmental impact. Carrier previously delivered four of the chillers in the summer of 2012, and delivered the remaining four earlier this year. The chillers have a unitary cooling capacity of 3.25 MW (26.0 MW in total).

“The Carrier solution proved to be the right mix for the project, in terms of capacity, top performance, and energy-efficiency,” said Michele Mazzarelli, vice president and project manager, Green Data Center Program, Eni. “Carrier has the experience and resources to meet our demanding specifications for this large-scale project,” he stated.

“We are proud to have been chosen to provide Eni with a cooling solution that aligns with its core values of innovation, efficiency and commitment to sustainability,” said Antonio Ragni, sales director, Carrier Italy. “Projects such as this confirm Carrier is the partner of choice for complex installations that require leading technology and customized solutions.”
