Four new FlexPods

Cisco and NetApp are introducing four new FlexPod capabilities with additional features to simplify the cloud and offer greater business continuity. These FlexPod solutions have been designed to enable IT and service providers to become cloud enabled more easily. FlexPod provides a highly virtualized infrastructure that can be easily automated. Companies like Cirrity and Virtustream are taking advantage of FlexPod to help advance their cloud offering to their customers.

The new capabilities and features include:
· FlexPod Datacenter with NetApp MicroCluster – continuous availability, zero data loss and seamless migration of virtual machines and data across the metro or WAN
· FlexPod Datacenter with Cisco Virtualised Multiservice Data Center (VDMC) 2.3 – scalable, highly secure and resilient, perfect for building cloud environments
· UCS Director 4.1 deep integration with Clustered Data ONTAP – a unified and automated management solution enhanced to support Clustered Data ONTAP, allowing customers to provision infrastructure in minutes
· FlexPod Cooperative Support program with Citrix – a framework to enable smooth collaboration across companies to quickly resolve support issues, increasing customer satisfaction


This announcement demonstrates NetApp’s aim to drive adoption of a multi-type infrastructure solution which enables customers to take advantage of the benefits of on-premise, private and public cloud IT. Along with the recent announcement that Clustered Data ONTAP can now facilitate data portability across the entire cloud environment, NetApp is enabling businesses to future proof their IT solutions, ensuring ongoing profitability and security for the future.
