Syncsort offers Ambari support

Syncsort says that its award winning Syncsort DMX-h technology is now supporting Apache Ambari, an open operational framework for provisioning, managing and monitoring Apache Hadoop clusters. With the Ambari integration, customers can now easily install Syncsort DMX-h across all the data nodes in a Hadoop cluster and monitor enterprise-scale DMX-h deployments.

“Since its inception in 2011, Apache Ambari has been undergoing a lot of exciting development that makes it simple for software vendors to integrate their technology to a single Hadoop management framework,” said Bob Page, vice president, partner products for Hortonworks®. “With Ambari Stacks, vendors can plug in their own services directly into Ambari. We are pleased that Syncsort is one of the first data integration software providers to leverage Ambari Stacks.”

Apache Ambari includes a collection of operator tools and a set of APIs that mask the complexity of Hadoop, simplifying the operation of Hadoop clusters. Once installed via Ambari integration, the Syncsort DMX-h technology components can be viewed and managed from the Ambari dashboard along with other services running on the Hadoop cluster.

“This integration brings the advanced performance and rich functionality of Syncsort DMX-h to any Hadoop cluster running Apache Ambari,” said Tendu Yogurtcu, vice president, engineering, Syncsort. “It makes implementation, upgrades and monitoring effortless and secure, even in large Ambari-managed Hadoop clusters.”
