Datatech UK, one of the UK’s most sophisticated IT solutions and website hosting providers with global blue chip clients in banking, retail, and well known search engines to name a few, called upon commercial finance consultants Central Finance to take advantage of the Government’s Enterprise Funding Guarantee scheme to secure a six figure sum to fund their expansion plans and bring one of the UK largest datacentres to the Midlands.

Marc Banyard, Technical Director at Datatech UK says: “Thanks to Chris and the team at Central Finance, our ideas to grow the business, expand our business offering, increase our server capability for growing demand and bring the latest technology to the Midlands have come together under our new roof and premises in Redditch.

“Our new datacentre is one the most sophisticated server houses in the UK with capacity for 951 petabytes, which is around 238 million DVDs worth of data storage – so it’s pretty impressive if you think about it. With the advancement of technology and ever increasing demand for big data, the new data centre is the future of technology and I’m pleased we managed to raise the funding to build it right here in the Midlands.

“Hosting millions of websites and servers for big blue chip organisations, public bodies and sophisticated ecommerce retailers, meant our technology has to be state of the art and always evolving. The funding package achieved by Central Finance has not only allowed us to invest in new premises, state of the art servers but also increase our own fibre optic network, which currently reaches London, Amsterdam, Germany and Manchester and will soon provide connectivity to France, other areas of The Netherlands, and several locations in America.”

Chris Brown, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a member of The West Midlands Regional Finance Forum and Director at Central Finance adds: “Working with Marc and Paul (Adams, Accounts Manager) at Datatech UK to bring the most sophisticated technology in Europe and build one of the most advanced data centres in the UK to the Midlands has been a huge success.

“Supporting businesses to invest and grow their services through funding is always a pleasure, and it’s something we do daily at Central Finance but this project is significantly rewarding. The new data centre not only looks impressive, and sounds impressive, it really is and it’s certainly a huge coo for the Midlands and I’m pleased to be part of it.”
