It has been granted the ISO 27001:2013 for information security and the ISO14001:2004 for environmental management, both set by the International Standards Organisation.

The certifications reflect DigiPlex’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards in the data centre industry, and will bring a range of practical benefits to the company, and new and existing customers.

These include making it easier for customers to complete security and environmental audit procedures, with the ISO standards ensuring many criteria are automatically met or exceeded. The certifications will also help DigiPlex meet the procurement criteria of potential new customers. These considerations are particularly relevant to larger businesses.

The two new certifications apply to the company’s Ulven and Rosenholm data centres in Oslo, Norway. DigiPlex also plans to acquire these certifications for its data centre in Fetsund, a suburb of Oslo, and the data centre in Upplands Väsby, in Stockholm, both under construction at the moment.

Gisle M. Eckhoff, CEO of DigiPlex, said: “We’re proud of these certifications, not just because they reflect our position as a top-tier data centre provider, but also because they help our customers, and potential customers, meet their goals. Security and environmental performance are at the core of our company.”

“These certifications are regarded in the industry as a gold standard. They help ensure we meet customers’ procurement and operating requirements, and make it easier and faster for them to complete environmental and security audits. Each ISO certification can address a range of potential audit requirements.”

“They help maintain our position as a leading data centre owner and operator in the Nordic region.”

The ISO 27001:2013 certification for information security management provides a structure to assess and control information risks through policies and day-to-day practices. Just over 30 certificates of this kind have so far been issued in Norway – across all industry types.

The ISO 14001:2004 reflects DigiPlex’s ongoing commitment to environmental performance, and its continuous sustainability improvement programmes.

The two certifications were awarded after an extensive evaluation process performed by DNV GL, the world’s leading classification society. To maintain the certifications, it will conduct regular audits.
