Fundaments expands IaaS capabilities

Fundaments has expanded its infrastructure as a service (IaaS) capabilities by quickly implementing Zerto disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) software to easily migrate customers into the cloud for seamless IT data center protection. The comprehensive yet simple disaster recovery capabilities allow customers to achieve key business objectives such as maintaining regulatory compliance. An intuitive user interface supports easy point and click workflow features to reliably conduct failover, failback, and testing with best in class recovery point objectives.

According to Eurostat, the Netherlands has the fourth highest consumption of cloud computing in Europe. With 28 percent of the country’s enterprises noted as having a high level of dependence on cloud computing services, Fundaments sought to better serve this market by enhancing its IaaS platform’s capabilities. Although multiple BC/DR software offerings were evaluated, Fundaments found the associated backup processes were too complex to integrate and not well suited to the development of a self-service portal. These same offerings also resulted in a poor recovery point objective (RPO) of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, resulting in the cloud service provider’s decision to continue its search for a viable alternative.

Fundaments chose Zerto Virtual Replication software to migrate a large healthcare industry customer with 40 virtual machines onto its IaaS platform. The project delivered a smooth implementation and allowed the customer to immediately and reliably test failover and failback capabilities. For highly regulated industries such as Fundaments’ healthcare and government customers, Zerto’s reporting capabilities helps them easily meet compliance and audit requirements without impacting their production environment to ensure an “always on” operation.
