Scaling and protecting public safety applications

The Town of Vail, Colorado is leveraging SimpliVity to transform the reliability, performance and economics of its IT infrastructure. The Town of Vail sought a new IT infrastructure as it prepared to host the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, which took place earlier this year.
"Public safety is our top priority," said Ron Braden, IT Director for the Town of Vail. "The SimpliVity solution ensures our emergency management systems and other essential applications are always available. The solution enables continuous IT uptime during major events like the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, which drew over 200,000 spectators."
By replacing its legacy IT systems with the SimpliVity solution, the Town of Vail:

  * Ensured high performance and resiliency for mission-critical applications
  * Achieved ~1600 SQL transactions per second along with other mixed workloads
  * Instituted efficient disaster recovery procedures via a remote data center
  * Eliminated IT expense and complexity, migrated 72 VMs with three compact SimpliVity OmniCube systems at the primary site and a fourth OmniCube at the disaster recovery site
  * Streamlined operations with global unified management
