As a further complement to its leading global eData service portfolio, Morgan Lewis has opened an EU data centre to help clients navigate data privacy, e-discovery and e-disclosure obligations in a global legal and regulatory environment that is being reshaped by the EU Commission and European courts. The firm will host a webinar on February 23 to explore recent EU decisions—including the landmark European High Court ruling invalidating the so-called Safe Harbor program regulating data transfers between the United States and EU countries—and recent developments in the ongoing negotiations between the United States and EU in fashioning an alternative, known as the EU Data Privacy Shield.

The webinar, “Navigating EU Data Privacy,” will also provide an overview of the firm’s new EU data centre, which enables the eData team to deliver EU-compliant data collection, analysis, review, disclosure, and production services while addressing global data privacy concerns. Morgan Lewis’s proprietary EU workflow combines the firm’s legal expertise, robust technology, multi-language capability, and EU-compatible managed review to respond to the needs of organizations facing international investigations, litigation, and arbitration.

With a global footprint, the new EU data centre, and top-tier international, regional, and local legal capabilities, Morgan Lewis provides electronic discovery/disclosure, data analytics, regulatory and investigative support, contract management, and information governance services to clients worldwide.
