GEANT to deploy Infinera Packet Optical SDN solution

G?ANT, Europe's leading collaboration on network and related infrastructure and services for the benefit of research and education, and operator of the pan-European G?ANT network, will deploy Infinera's programmable and open packet optical software-defined networking (SDN) solution integrated with G?ANT's ONOS-based controller.

A survey conducted by Nexsan has revealed that data security and download speeds were the top two barriers to a truly connected workforce. The survey reveals that 98% of users need to work remotely or collaboratively, with nearly two thirds (61%) responding that they need to access company data on their own devices (BYOD).

NVM Express has released its NVM Express over Fabrics specification for accessing storage devices and systems over Ethernet, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand™, and other network fabrics. NVM Express, Inc. has also recently published Version 1.0 of the NVM Express Management Interface specification.
