World’s largest NFV network starts commercialization trial

China Mobile has officially initiated the commercialisation of its rich communication services (RCS) network. As its strategic partner, ZTE worked with China Mobile to build this virtual IP multimedia subsystem (vIMS) based RCS project, which is the world’s largest vIMS network.

Open source community unites to advance enterprise-grade network operating system

The Linux Foundation says that the OpenSwitch Project is becoming a Linux Foundation project. OpenSwitch is an open source, Linux-based network operating system (NOS) designed to power enterprise grade switches from multiple hardware vendors that will enable organisations to rapidly build data center networks that are customised for unique business needs.
