For customers needing confidence in the integrity and security of their network and data centre providers’ operations, ISO27001 offers the reassurance of a demanding, externally validated information security management standard. Having already obtained ISO27001 certification for their Hampshire data centre, SSE Telecoms demonstrated best practice through the recent external audit of the entire business operations.

To give it its full title, ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system (ISMS). To demonstrate the highest levels of operational integrity to cloud services providers and systems integrators using SSE Telecoms’ services for their clients’ mission-critical applications, certification is a must-have.

This is an important milestone for SSE Telecoms as the company plans to invest significant capital throughout 2013 to develop new network services and broaden its geographical reach to customers across the UK.

Discussing the recent certification’s value to SSE Telecoms’ customers, Chris Jagusz, Managing Director said: “ISO27001 certification is another sign of our commitment to showing customers why they can have the highest confidence in our operations. Our stewardship of confidential information is robust and that we constantly challenge ourselves to keep it that way.”
