Borri protects West Yorkshire University

Purchased for its resilience, efficiency and three year manufacturer’s warranty, a Borri three phase B8000FXS Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system is now playing an integral role in supporting the IT infrastructure at Leeds Trinity University.

The order for the high efficiency, transformer free UPS unit was secured through leading IT consultancy and services provider, Articulate Technology Limited. Having previously worked with Borri on comparable projects, Articulate Technology had complete confidence in specifying a Borri UPS for this critical application.

Borri’s highly skilled engineers delivered, positioned and commissioned the 30kVA B8000FXS within the tight time frame stipulated by Leeds Trinity University. To deliver the correct autonomy, the installation also included a battery enclosure.

As part of the complete service provided, Leeds Trinity University is also benefiting from a three year battery warranty and comprehensive maintenance contract, which covers emergency call outs, preventative maintenance, parts to the value of £200 and 24/7 technical support.

Designed with in-built tricore technology, enabling the B8000FXS UPS unit to achieve efficiency of up to 98% and deliver substantial power savings. Further savings are achieved as the system has a negligible effect on the mains supply. The B8000FXS provides less than 3% harmonic distortion, which is achieved through the combination of Isolated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT) and digital processing (DSP), allowing a generator to be downsized by as much as 50%
