Through the partnership, SOURCE has taken a long-term property lease within Ark’s newly-constructed Farnborough facility. SOURCE will present services, from a single rack to private data aisles, to allow customers with smaller power requirements the means to access the Ark solution.
This reselling means customers will benefit from Ark’s state-of-the-art campus facilities in new-build data centres - alongside the choice of additional services provided by SOURCE such as network or internet service provision. The agreement allows Ark and SOURCE to work with each other and use this agility to offer more options to a customer within the wholesale/retail niche in the market in order to provide a fit-for-purpose solution for customers; widening Ark’s reach further by offering consumers a solution to match their requirements more completely – directly from Ark or as a solution set from SOURCE.

SOURCE, an award-winning infrastructure and network service provider established in 2010 by Fenton and Madeline Bard, have a number of other data centres but chose Ark to accommodate growth due to its technical capabilities, government accreditation and security.

It has initially secured a 15-year lease at the Ark at Cody Park in Farnborough, Hants, where it will serve power requirements from 5 - 200kW, high-speed Internet services via Level 3 and point-to-point connectivity. SOURCE adds significant value to their service provision by delivering close and dedicated account management, remote hands and consultancy services all supported within a single, comprehensive service level agreement.
SOURCE has a client list including publisher Incisive Media, Canonical, Foundation IT, Reed Elsevier and SAS Group. It works closely with distributor Arrow ECS as their co-location vendor to take the product into the IT reseller space.

Fenton Bard, Director of SOURCE, said: “We are incredibly excited about our partnership with Ark – they are willing to act as a true partner, which is one of the many reasons we chose them above their competitors.

“Ark data centres are air-cooled data centres with a guaranteed PUE of less than 1.25. In addition to this, they build from the ground up, meaning they are better than an existing facility into which a data centre is often shoe-horned. This makes their facilities highly attractive for our customers.”
Roy Gibbens, Sales Director at Ark, said: “This is a true ‘work with’ agreement; teaming with SOURCE means we are working with the fastest growing, most active and respected company in this space.

“It plugs the ‘no-man’s land’ in the market, meaning we can reach out to a greater number of customers, offering the benefits of wholesale solutions to customers on a smaller scale. These are not necessarily all SMEs – they can be blue-chip companies with smaller data needs or project requirements.

“This increases Ark’s agility even further while these types of partnerships are integral to our growth plans.”
