SEGRO is pleased to announce that Gyron has signed a 20 year lease for a 33,000 sq ft building on the Slough Trading Estate.

Gyron is a specialist data centre service provider and this latest deal represents the third lease they have signed with SEGRO in the past two years. Gyron first moved to the Trading Estate in 2012, taking 30,000 sq ft on a 20 year lease, which formed part of SEGRO’s 124,000 sq ft speculative development in Ajax Avenue. This latest deal with Gyron means that the Ajax Avenue speculative scheme, started in 2011, is now fully occupied. Gyron plan to complete the fit out of the new premises as data centre facilities by the end of 2013.

David Drummond, SEGRO’s Head of Data Centres, said: “We are delighted that Gyron is expanding their operations and have taken space for another data centre on the Slough Trading Estate. This latest deal demonstrates why the Trading Estate, with its proximity to London, dual power supply and excellent network connections, combined with our in-depth knowledge of this sector, is one of the most attractive locations for data centre operators.”
Robin Balen, Managing Director of Gyron, said: “We launched our first data centre in Slough only a few months ago so it’s fantastic to be able to work with SEGRO again to commit to an additional facility to support our customers’ increasing requirements for secure, resilient and environmentally friendly data centre facilities. We now have four data centres outside of the M25 with a total announced capacity of 19MW.”

Including this latest deal with Gyron, SEGRO now has 27 data centres in its portfolio, occupying 1,598,000 sq ft. 19 of these are located on the Slough Trading Estate.
