Avere adds former HP Executive Dave Stephenson

Avere Systems has announced the appointment of Dave Stephenson as vice president of engineering. Stephenson’s vast experience in storage and file systems gives additional executive fire power to Avere’s industry proven and tested team under the leadership of President and CEO Ron Bianchini. In his new role, Stephenson will be responsible for leading all of the engineering efforts for the company.

Stephenson brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge in both data storage and in building engineering organizations that can scale with company growth. He spent the last three years at HP as director of research and development for the company’s Networked Attached Storage Group with responsibility for the development and integration of scale-out NAS solutions based on acquired technology (IBRIX). Prior to HP, Stephenson spent ten years as vice president of engineering at Panasas. In addition to HP and Panasas, he also spent time in his career at Transarc and IBM. Stephenson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
