Cannon Technologies appoints Middle East Business Development Manager

A Middle East business veteran of more than two decades - and with people management skills drawn from a successful military and corporate career - plus in-depth commercial and technology experience, Charlie brings to Cannon an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the region. His aim is to strengthen and build on relationships with new and existing clients, channels and suppliers. Cannon will benefit from Charlie's considerable knowledge of the Middle East together with his existing customer relationships and experience in developing, supporting and managing technology-focussed businesses covering operational, technical, project management, channel development, customer support and services. Prior to taking up his key role at Cannon, Charlie worked with a number of technology giants, including AT&T and LSI Logic – as well as several years working as an independent consultant designing networks for a diverse portfolio of clients. He has also served as a member of the Ofcom Advisory Council.

Commenting on his new job, Charlie said that he sees the new position as an ideal opportunity to build on Cannon's 35-year track record in meeting the needs of the ever-changing data centre world - as well as promoting the company's new T4 Data Centre Solutions range. These include the T4 Modular Data Centre, the T4 Data Centre Manager, the T4 Mini Data Centre and the groundbreaking Cold Aisle Cocooning system – all solutions that lead the way in making mission-critical facilities more robust, resilient and energy efficient. "Data centres are now the critical hub of public and private organisations across the world, and demand in the Middle East is expanding driven by one of the fastest growing IT markets. Just look at the some of the major infrastructure projects underway at the moment: the World Cup in Qatar, major social infrastructure growth in health and education in Saudi Arabia, a bid for Expo 2020 by Dubai and a possible UAE bid for the Olympic games in 2024, all underpinned by strong economies" says Bass.

Technology, he explained, is central to meeting many of the challenges these major projects present to the wide variety of companies doing business in the region and data centres - the lifeblood of Cannon Technologies - will be even more central when it comes to rising to these challenges.
