Recent news stories have again brought the theme if IT security into the forefront of people’s thoughts. It’s not only the question of how to protect sensitive data from government access, but also the threat of Internet criminality. It is essential for companies to be able to rely on optimal protection from cyber attacks. These and other themes will be the focus of the Internet Security Days 2013, now in its third year, on the 24th and 25th September in Phantasialand, near Brühl, Germany.

Visitors can expect a full program of high-quality presentations, a trade fair with the newest security products and services, and a myriad of networking events where new business connections can be made, and existing ones can be strengthened. The presentations offer a first-class opportunity to learn directly from the experts: How can the current threats be minimized, and what are the security risks involved in the latest technological developments? The Internet Security Days are organized by Bellaxa and eco – The Association of the German Internet Industry. As the event is focused on members of international Internet security companies again this year, the presentations will predominantly be in English.

The Program: Security for mobiles, networks and M2M
The first day begins with keynotes: Among others, Torsten Jüngling (Stonesoft), Joe Klein (SRA International) and Darren Anstee (Arbor Networks) are eagerly awaited, all of whom will take part in the podium discussions following their presentations. After this, three tracks offer the focal points “Web & Mobile Security”, “Network Security”, and “European Cooperation”. Specialists will be speaking about threats in web applications, mobile threats, DDoS and the Advanced Cyber Defence Center (ACDC) , among other things. The program is rounded off by social events in the evening.

On the second day of the event, there will be another round of keynotes: Koji Nakao (KDDI Japan), for example, has confirmed that he will be talking about the future of cyber attacks. Following the same format as the first day, podium discussions and lunch will be followed by a division into three tracks. The first two tracks, organized by the eco Competence Groups Security and Mobile, are titled “IT Security Knowledge for the Future” and “M2M Secure”. The third track is reserved for the closed ACDC General Meeting.
