Taking place on 29th and 30th October 2013 in Frankfurt, Germany, the three events, delivered in association with SNIA Europe, are a central fixture in the calendars of IT professionals who wish to stay on top of the key issues in data storage, cloud computing, data centre technologies and virtualisation. With over 130 informative and engaging sessions, the agenda offers a unique and balanced mix of ‘thought leadership’ presentations, keynote visionary viewpoints, analyst insights, innovative technology thinking and case study examples which will both challenge and inspire delegates. In addition to the comprehensive conference programme, the events offer the attendees multiple opportunities to network with some of the industry’s foremost thinkers and commentators, to meet their peers and to exchange ideas and experience.
A major highlight of the Powering the Cloud 2013 conferences are the Spotlight Sessions which address five of the most important challenges facing CIOs and IT managers. These sessions on Big Data, security, IT management, data centre architecture and application delivery are a comprehensive exploration of the latest thinking, new technological ideas and practical advice. Moderated by leading industry experts and analysts, the sessions will include Q&A opportunities for delegates to explore and challenge speaker ideas and opinions. Each speaker in the Spotlight Sessions has been chosen for their knowledge on the subject and their ability to deliver true ‘thought leadership’.
New for 2013 are two major debates as an intrinsic part of the content. These debates will allow delegates to hear a range of views and have the opportunity to question and challenge panel members. Delegates will also be encouraged to air their own opinions and experiences. The two debates this year will be around Big Data and managed services.
In order to help delegates understand the most important and innovative technology trends and developments, the organisers have created a Hot Topic series of presentations grouped under the following headings: Open Source, Cloud, Solid State, Software Defined ‘X’ and Emerging Technologies. In addition to the usual mix of sponsor, analyst and SNIA presentations, the three Powering the Cloud 2013 conferences will feature a broad range of independent speakers including BITKOM, Cloud Security Alliance, CloudCamp Frankfurt, Data Centre Alliance (DCA), Datacenter Star Audit, eco.de, EuroCloud Deutschland, GUIDE SHARE EUROPE, Josh Krischer & Associates, Neuralytix, SANBoard and Vision Cloud.
John Chapman, content director, said: “The Powering the Cloud 2013 events address the most pressing issues that CIOs, IT managers and IT professionals face as they work towards creating a more mobile, flexible and social work environment. IT has moved from providing a supportive environment of existing business practices to an enabling force to make things happen and get things done. This means that all IT professionals have to completely review their ideas of what is possible and rethink how they build the architectures of the future. The Powering the Cloud 2013 conferences are the first event designed to help IT professionals formulate their ideas, challenge their preconceptions and give real insight into what is possible.”
