During the event, ZTE’s operation and maintenance teams worked closely with Telkom to ensure that the network ran securely. The network was designed to provide the participating APEC CEO Summit government leaders, business executives and journalists with reliable, efficient broadband services. Construction of the network began in September 2013.

As part of the network construction project, ZTE provided a next-generation, integrated full-service optical access platform, the ZTE ZXA10 C300, to Telkom. The platform supports smooth evolution to next-generation PON technology. In addition, its cross-OLT (optical line termination Type C protection scheme lets an ONU (optical network unit) connect to two remote OLTs through two links to achieve security and guarantee smooth communications.

ZTE is a leader in the optical access market. Constant innovation allows ZTE to serve global operators with first-rate products and achieve steady growth in the PON segment. Also, according to a recent report from Ovum, the company’s PON OLT and ONT/ONU shipments are both market share leaders, accounting for 42 percent and 32 percent of the global market respectively.
