IDC forecasts market growth of about 8.2 percent in 2013, when the overall data centre network market will be valued at $11.9 billion[i]. The same analyst states that, like the larger enterprise network market, the data centre network is being called on to support the requirements of virtualisation, cloud, and mobility, with big data and enterprise-oriented social networking also driving demand. Brocade has specific business initiatives in place to capitalise on this growth and target the data centre marketplace more aggressively, as outlined at its recent Analyst & Technology Day, and Ms Gardham is tasked with spearheading growth across Western Europe.

“To address the rise in fabric-based networking and virtualisation technologies, the UK data centre industry is going through considerable change at the moment; so further planting our roots in this market will be integral to our growth over the next couple of years” said Marcus Jewell, Vice President EMEA at Brocade. “Joy’s considerable sales experience will be integral to our business development as we look to capitalise on the new opportunities that the market has to offer”.

Gardham has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, having started her career in technical sales at UK cloud services provider, ICS Solutions. She then joined Sun Microsystems, where she rose through the ranks from National Sales Manager to become Operations Director in 2008. In 2009 she joined Oracle Corporation as its Operations Director, where she was responsible for driving the positive integration of Sun and Oracle Sales and Operations. Gardham then went on to launch an internet marketing and promotion services business for commercial property, Your Commercial Move, where she remains a Non-Executive Director.

“The adoption of virtualisation technologies and cloud computing are on the rise and so too is the demand for technology partners that can help end users drive business transformation. Brocade is in prime position to take advantage of this demand and I am truly excited to be joining the team at this time,” said Joy Gardham, Regional Sales Director – Western Europe. “Brocade’s is challenging today’s data centre market, and so I am looking forward to all the fantastic opportunities my new role will bring.”
