The Powering the Cloud events are less than one week away and with hot topic sessions in place, sponsors avid to showcase their developments, and industry experts at the ready to exchange knowledge and network with each other, the interest amongst the European IT industry is greater than ever before. The three co-located conferences, SNW Europe, Datacenter Technologies and Virtualization World, which will take place on 29th and 30th October 2013 in Frankfurt, Germany, will also see influential writers attending from 14 countries across the world.

One of the biggest draws of the event is the inspirational keynote presentations being made by high-profile corporate executives in the storage and virtualisation markets on the issues which are most challenging to today’s organisations. These include Chris Johnson, VP Storage EMEA at HP, who will share his thoughts on the emerging hybrid IT world, and Shaun Walsh, Senior VP of Marketing and Corporate Development at Emulex, who will present on The Great IT Migration. Other keynote speakers include executives from DE-CIX, Dell, EVault and Oracle.

IT followers, senior executives and commentators will also be flocking to the popular expert and analyst-led Spotlight Sessions, which address the factors that most affect organisations’ IT strategies and needs. The conferences this year will address five of the most important challenges pertinent to today’s CIOs and IT managers; Big Data, security, IT management, data centre architecture and application delivery. Further hot topic sessions designed to keep delegates up to speed with current debate and discussion will focus on open source, cloud, solid state, software defined ‘X’ and emerging technologies.

John Chapman, content director at the Powering the Cloud Events, said: “For the special anniversaries of these events, we have worked especially hard to broaden the coverage of the conference content to create three all-encompassing events which have appeal for executives and influencers at all levels throughout the IT industry. By this we mean truly resonate with resellers, vendors and users as well as influencers. The Powering the Cloud 2013 conferences are designed to get into the real issues facing today’s IT executives and to educate, facilitate dialogue and provide an insight from the leading industry experts into the possibilities, both now and into the future.”

Warren Reid, EMEA marketing director at Dot Hill, said, “The Powering the Cloud events have successfully evolved to draw a wider profile of delegates and have achieved this without sacrificing the depth of pertinent subject matters year on year. I am looking forward to two full days with prospects, partners and customers, and an array of interviews with tier one writers.”

“The storage landscape is changing rapidly and HP will be showcasing some of the latest innovations accelerating that change at this year’s Powering the Cloud event. Organisations are making important decisions about the future of their storage, and these decisions will have a major impact on how well their business runs for many years. HP will be demonstrating the key components of a storage defined data centre, as well as our mobile management platform and high availability solutions. We’ll also be exploring topics like Big Data, managed services and the future role of the datacentre as well as offering Cloud and Information Security training on-site.”

“Powering the Cloud is a perfect event for Neos as it covers a broad spectrum of data centre automation, virtualisation and storage technologies that form the backbone of the solutions we provide to our clients and partners,” said Hendrik van den Berg, Managing Director at Neos Ventures. “The rapid pace of IT development makes the availability of IT experts who are ‘ahead of the game’ and able to develop interoperable, cohesive and forward-looking services that address concrete business needs imperative. As Neos plays an important role in filling in the knowledge gap between the new technologies and the legacy investments, we are happy to sponsor a conference that has highly relevant themes and a great audience.”

Steven Rose, EMEA Senior Vice President at Violin Memory, said, “Flash memory is one of the hottest topics in the IT circles at the moment. There is great interest in the changes it can bring to the data centre. We look forward to showcasing our technology at the Powering the Cloud conference next week.
