Softcat will provide networking equipment, design, implementation, maintenance and training to participating higher education establishments in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It also has the capability to support network solutions through its 24x7x365 Network Operations Centre. Softcat is now on every major national framework in the UK, including contracts with Software License Resellers, NEUPC Audio Visual, NSSA, NDNA, ITRAP and NEPA.

Nick Berry, Softcat’s education manager said: “Universities are under increasing pressure to provide excellent value for money for students, and many are seeking new opportunities for collaboration and unified communication in order to improve the student experience. We look forward to working closely with member institutions and assisting them in providing best value networking solutions from leading vendors including Dell, Cisco and HP. As a Platinum HP partner and a Gold Cisco partner, clients have that extra reassurance of our expertise.”

Jamie Burke, Softcat’s sales director, said: “Securing a place on the NEUPC networking framework is the perfect start to 2014 following over two years of hard work and investment by Softcat’s education team. Customers have been telling us they need to consolidate their supply chain in order to realise cost efficiencies, and that it would be great to have one trusted advisor who sit on all the national HE frameworks. Softcat can now offer our university customers print, software, audio visual, client devices, server/storage and finally networking, and customers can access all of these technologies through dedicated account management or a user friendly e-procurement portal designed from the ground up based on customer feedback.”

Softcat’s networking solutions are now available to purchase from the NEUPC Framework by member institutions.
