Representing the high end of all ARM® processors, X-Gene™ delivers CPU performance that allows for immediate deployment in today’s cloud combining high performance with lower power consumption. X-Gene™ features the semiconductor industry’s first Server-on-a-Chip™ solution, combining 10/40G mixed signal I/O with top-of-class, ARMv8 64-bit cores developed by AppliedMicro cores running at up to 2.4 GHz, with an enterprise-class memory subsystem that is virtualisation capable.

X-Gene™ provides a scaleable solution for large datacentre operators looking for the next generation of high performance computing and connectivity for large scale data processing in cloud-scale environments and through innovation and design offers significant reductions in power consumption and lower overall cost of ownership.

X-Gene™ samples began shipping to customers and development partners in March 2013, and AppliedMicro have put systems in the hands of their software and hardware partners and large data centre customers. The X-Gene™ Development Kit announced in October will accelerate ecosystem maturation and make it easy for development partners to get up and running quickly in their environment. The X-Gene™ chip will be packaged along with networking, I/O and storage interfaces on the developer board. A software development kit will come with the board and Acal BFi customers can pre-order development kits at the show or by emailing Richard.pollard@acalbfi.co.uk . Acal BFi Ltd is an authorised distribution partner for AppliedMicro and as such can offer unrivalled support technical and design-in support throughout Europe.

In addition to the ARMv8 64 bit processor ACAL will also be demonstrating the latest Flash storage and networking PCI cards from Virident. Acal introduce a range of Active Optical Cables offering greater efficiencies in power consumption and lower cost of deployment.
