Fiona Toseland, who graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1989, joins Airedale as Projects Manager with a highly respectable track record gained in the petrochemical industry and M&E sector in addition to nine years with Star Refrigeration. She will shadow Brian Smith until he retires in June following 19 years at Airedale.

The Projects team manages large-scale, complex telecoms, precision air conditioning and chiller upgrade programmes for key accounts such as Telefonica, EE and Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd, a joint venture between O2 and Vodafone. The team provides clients with an end-to-end solution, which encompasses bespoke system design where necessary, all designed to simplify the specification and installation process for customers.

Airedale believes its track record in offering such a comprehensive service encompassing a varied range of projects is unique. Adrian Trevelyan, UK Service Manager who heads the Projects team, said: “Our many years in the manufacture of cooling systems, combined with our service credentials and nationwide coverage, provides us with the right mix of skills to take on the most logistically challenging projects. Take the recent example of our work at The Shard, we’ll supply the largest of our chillers, in components, and then reassemble on site to the same high tolerances as if we had assembled it in our factory. Being UK based, makes it easy for us to interpret and tailor what we do to meet the client’s needs. Airedale provides a rare combination of breadth and quality of range and expertise of service.”

Fiona will be working alongside Paul Mosdell who, during his 14 years at Airedale, has gained significant knowledge of the industry and Airedale systems, having worked as a Service Supervisor and Senior Commissioning Technician before joining the Projects team as Contracts Engineer four years ago.

Adrian continues: “Together with refurbishment and retrofit business, the Projects team makes a significant contribution to UK After-Sales Division turnover. Over the last 18 months we have become increasingly busy and it was important to strengthen our infrastructure, both to meet existing business demands and also to grow our telecoms and projects business. Fiona and Paul bring significant additional expertise to the team and will play a major role in building on Brian’s hard work in the Projects team over the last nine years.”

Brian plans to focus his new-found freedom on sporting activities including golf, cycling in Budapest, in addition to charity work for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and the Yorkshire Lawn Tennis Association.
