Intermedia, the world's largest one-stop shop for cloud IT services and business applications, including hosted Microsoft Exchange, archiving and backup, collaboration and file management, has appointed Aidan Simister as its new UK director of sales following the company's recently announced growth strategy and the acquisition of SaaSID.

Ed Macnair, managing director of Intermedia EMEA, says: "We are excited to have Aidan join us. He has extensive experience in building successful sales teams and consistently exceeding growth targets. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and has well established relationships within the channel. This is an incredibly exciting time for Intermedia and Aidan will be a vital asset to the business as we continue to expand our footprint in the UK."

"Intermedia has a tremendous opportunity for further growth in the UK and I'm excited to be part of it. Today, companies have to use cloud technology to be competitive in whatever sector they trade in. Some businesses have been hesitant to embrace cloud services due to fear of lack of control, management, security and in some instances compliance. Intermedia is perfectly positioned to help businesses overcome those concerns and fully embrace the benefits of the cloud without losing control," says Aidan Simister, UK director of sales.

Aidan will be growing Intermedia's cloud services revenue through the UK channel by developing new relationships with partners and customers as well as strengthening existing ones. He has more than 17 years' experience in the IT industry, with in-depth knowledge ranging from taking new technologies to market to driving new business growth through both direct and indirect channels. In this role, he will be looking to recruit VARs, SIs and MSPs to increase market adoption of Intermedia services in the UK.

Aidan has previously held sales and business development management positions at organisations including Netwrix, Access Information Security and Sophos.
