Managing IT’s Evolution into the 3rd Era.

As enterprises move into what Gartner has termed the 3rd Era, then the management and remit of IT services is about to change. This is an evolution, not a revolution; however it will be rapid – more a quantum leap than a slow progression or development.

With this in mind, Accordant Solutions Limited and Automic Software, have announced a new strategic alliance. Their joint specialist services will offer a valuable resource and tools to enterprises that are looking to make that leap – enterprises that are also aware of that other well known evolutionary term, “survival of the fittest”. Not necessarily fittest as in strongest, but that which fits the environment of the times the best.

For an enterprise to make effective strategic decisions about where they want to evolve to, there needs to be knowledge on where they are presently. Understanding what IT services a business needs, where and when it needs them, how they should be consumed and what the contribution to the business is sits at the heart of the Accordant approach (Business balanced IT). Delivering those services, in the right way, to the right consumer endpoint, with the right models and datasets, is central to the horizontal orchestration and vertical automation approach of Automic.

This new partnership between Accordant and Automic will enable an enterprise to better understand its demand; thereby offering the opportunity for development of existing services to enhance delivery today, whilst also formulating and developing the techniques needed for tomorrow. Establishing a powerful foundation for service optimization, orchestration and automation will underpin the consumption of aggregated services across private, public and hybrid cloud solutions - building solutions with this in mind now, enhances what a business does today, protects its investment for the future, and frees up critical resources to drive ever greater benefit to the bottom line.
