Atos, the international information technology services company, and Transversal a UK based knowledge solutions vendor spun out of Cambridge University, have announced a partnership that will help deliver knowledge management to the public sector. Transversal will also be joining Atos SME Harbour, which enables a simpler, safe and transparent working relationship with small and medium-sized enterprises on Government projects.

The new solution is available over G-Cloud and has been designed with Canopy, the Atos Cloud, to reduce operational costs whilst maintaining service excellence in the shift to adopt digital service channels.

Public sector organisations are under increasing pressure to improve the speed, consistency and quality of their customer service outputs whilst also reducing costs, but with less resources available - owing largely to budget cuts – they are struggling to manage the growing number of inbound inquiries from the general public and their internal employees.

The new solution from Atos and Transversal, Web Self-Service and Knowledge Management, aims to address this struggle, allowing government departments to offer self-service technology on a wide selection of internal and external channels – including web and mobile self-service and the contact centre – to ensure a seamless search function across multiple entry points. Users will receive answers to their questions quickly and easily – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“The public sector has been a key focus for us over the past few years and we are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with a major industry player like Atos” said Davin Yap, CEO and founder at Transversal. “Citizens are now used to getting their information and completing transactions online or via mobile and expect the superior self-service experiences that they find in the private sector. This continues to put pressure on public sector organisations to present the right information, at the right time - irrespective of the device - to their users. We are confident that this partnership will assist the public sector in achieving their goals in channel shifting to meet the modern citizen’s requirements”

Suffolk County Council has already signed up to the scalable cloud solution and will be rolling it out across a number of key service areas within the council.
“As the market leader in knowledge solutions we are delighted to be working with Transversal and remain confident that this partnership will simplify the adoption of cloud solutions for public sector organisations, helping them align with the Governments Digital by Default agenda,” Rob Price, Head of Digital, Atos added. “Transversal is a great example of the type of world-class small businesses the UK has to offer and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with the company, and others like them, in the future.”
