Volta has announced that C4L, a leading data centre colocation and connectivity solutions provider, established a Point of Presence (PoP) at Volta’s Great Sutton Street (GSS) facility, bringing their own fibre into the facility to expand their private fibre-optic coreTX network in central London.

C4L’s coreTX network provides access to 100 data centres in the UK and more than 300 globally, offering considerable choice to customers requiring colocation or connectivity services. coreTX is a high performance, high capacity MPLS network, delivering bandwidth of 1-100Gb between key C4L PoPs, now including a PoP at Volta GSS. A truly any-to-any network, coreTX interconnects partner Internet Exchanges, multiple Tier 1 ISPs, cloud platforms, telecoms operators and other service providers across all of the coreTX PoP locations, including Volta’s central London data centre.

A carrier neutral data centre, Volta Great Sutton Street (GSS) works with some of the world's leading carriers to ensure ultra-fast, resilient connectivity, enabling customers to connect globally with a carrier of their choice. The presence of C4L’s coreTX network at Volta GSS will add to Volta’s customers’ choice of connectivity and cross connects when expanding their company’s domestic and international footprint. In addition to increased connectivity options, Volta GSS is ideally located for firms requiring a resilient and scalable IT infrastructure in central London.

Matt Hawkins, Founder and Chairman at C4L, said: “Volta’s connectivity and unrivalled 33KV power supply were key factors in our decision to expand the coreTX network with a PoP at the Great Sutton Street facility. This means that customers located in Volta will have additional direct access to Internet Exchanges such as LINX and LONAP, as well as multiple Tier 1 Internet providers including NTT and GTT. Furthermore, the central London location will enable locally based businesses in the financial services sector, SME’s and technology entrepreneurs around Tech City to take advantage of our high capacity coreTX network.”

Matthew Dent, CEO of Volta commented: “We are delighted that C4L have chosen to PoP our Great Sutton Street facility. Our customers are now able to benefit from C4L’s extensive fibre-optic network connectivity across both UK and other data centres globally. Our partnership benefits both our and C4L customer bases by offering increased choice of connectivity to physical and cloud-based infrastructures required for doing business in central London.”
