Advanced Computer Software Group plc (Advanced), a leading supplier of software and IT services, has signed a five-year contract with a new Slough-based data centre facility in a strategic move to support its growth plans. Advanced will begin operations from Infinity’s new build data centre in July 2014.

Advanced operates from five data centres – three that are London-based, one in Bridgwater and another in Manchester. The company provides a comprehensive range of IT managed services for more than 800 customers, from desktop support through to a complete infrastructure as a service (Iaas) in which Advanced takes full ownership of customers’ servers and networks.

Extending Advanced’s data centre capacity at Infinity’s tier III Slough data centre supports the expansion of Advanced’s managed services division (Advanced 365). The extension will ensure capacity can be delivered on demand at a cost-effective price point for Advanced’s current and future customers.

Advanced’s decision to partner directly with Infinity, the specialist data centre provider, rather than through a third party, ensures a competitive cost model. The new data centre was selected after a rigorous review of the marketplace to ensure that customers continue to be provided with the highest quality service.

The facility also provides the perfect location for delivering the next generation of Advanced’s innovative cloud platform, supporting quick deployment of services for clients and further supporting the company’s growth strategy.

Vin Murria, CEO, Advanced Computer Software Group plc, says “As a leading managed services provider, it is vital for us to have scalable infrastructure to support our growth ambitions. Infinity’s new, top-of-the-range data centre provides all-important expansion room and quality facilities so that we can effectively support both new and existing customers from across the UK. ”

Stuart Sutton, Infinity Chief Executive Officer, says “Advanced’s new data centre capacity will be a significant enabler for its growth in managed services. The Advanced proposition is closely aligned with Infinity’s business model; both companies have a deep understanding of both IT transformation and how the data centre is evolving, with innovative solutions to support every step of the IT journey.”

Infinity brings a fresh approach to data centres, understanding the nature of the enterprise IT revolution and providing specific data centre solutions to support each step and all requirements of the most discerning users and providers of enterprise IT. Its offering also includes individual racks, private suites, scalable halls and dedicated data centres supported by innovative cooling techniques. Infinity’s Slough data centre is highly resilient with no single points of failure and has been purpose-built to provide the ideal data centre environment.
