Brocade appoints industry veteran Allen Olivo

Brocade has announced the appointment of Allen Olivo as vice president of global brand and communications. In this role Olivo is responsible for the development of brand strategies that will further evolve Brocade’s leadership position in the networking marketplace as the New IP becomes the new normal for networks. He will be based in the company’s San Jose headquarters and report to Christine Heckart, chief marketing officer.

Olivo brings more than 20 years of technology marketing expertise to Brocade, further energizing the company’s already robust leadership team. His significant experience includes guiding worldwide marketing and brand strategy, advertising, marketing communications and corporate communications for many Fortune 500 companies including Apple, Amazon.com, Yahoo! and PayPal.

During his career, Allen has been honored and recognized for his work in the industry through highly acclaimed awards such as the Nielsen Business Media Achievement Award, Gold Lions, Effie’s, Clio’s, Andy’s, Cable Car and Belding awards. Olivo has also taught marketing at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
