NexGen Networks, a leading provider of ultra-high-speed fibre-optic services, has chosen Interxion’s City of London data centre campus to extend its private Ethernet service.

The launch of this new point of presence (POP) means that customers can access NexGen Neworks’ highly reliable, low-latency global connectivity services from Interxion’s London data centre. This includes NexGen’s long haul international network East-West route from London to Tokyo and the rest of the APAC region.

NexGen’s expansion with Interxion at the heart of financial markets across Europe is evidence of Interxion’s strong momentum in the financial services industry as it continues to grow its already significant financial services community.

Edward Lawson, Senior Vice President of Business Development at NexGen, comments: “This is a strategic expansion for NexGen, developed in response to strong customer demand. Interxion’s significant European footprint and status as a high-quality carrier-neutral data centre colocation provider will be very important to us as we continue our European expansion. As well as offering both short and long-term value to NexGen, this relationship provides exciting opportunities for our customers who are looking to improve latency and diversity.”

Adriaan Oosthoek, UK Managing Director at Interxion, comments: “Presence in Interxion’s London data centre campus provides NexGen with a strong foothold in the UK and a major strategic opportunity to continue its European expansion. Synergies in our customer base make this a very compelling proposition for both businesses, and we are looking forward to supporting NexGen and its customers as the company continues to grow its European presence.”
