Part of the DC Thomson Group, brightsolid will open its state-of-the-art Aberdeen Data Centre on 1st October 2015. The world-class facility will benefit from robust network connectivity, nationally and internationally, through a range of partners including SSE, Tampnet and now Converged Communication Solutions Limited. The relationship further extends the Scottish supplier matrix facilitated by the new data centre, offering better choice and value to our customers.

Speaking about the partnership, Converged Technical Director, Neil Christie, says “As the Oil & Gas capital of Europe, Aberdeen has been waiting a long time for world class datacentre facilities, and brightsolid’s arrival is most welcome. Here at Converged, we are very excited to be in partnership with a company that has a proven track record of delivering Tier III services.

“The timing of the facility could not be better, as our rapidly expanding Gigabit network footprint means that our customers will be able to access their equipment and associated services at speeds of up to 10Gbps.“

Converged was formed in 2005 with the aim of providing a service driven by cost-effectiveness, excellence and accountability within the ICT sector. It has grown from a two-man operation into a company employing 22 members of staff, offering a single point of contact for businesses’ internet, networking, telephony and IT support requirements.

brightsolid’s £5 million investment into Aberdeen will serve the energy capital with uncontended speed and efficiency for transporting and storing large amounts of data. Cost and efficiency are the priorities. These are delivered through brightsolid’s innovative approach to data centre design and connectivity peering.
