APM Group says that LawWare has been certified against the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) Code of Practice for the third time – demonstrating once again that it is a safe and transparent cloud provider.

LawWare Ltd, a leading supplier of practice management software for law firms, was founded in 1995 and incorporated in 1998. The aim was to produce innovative software specifically for solicitors and offer a first class range of support services to assist law firms to implement the software and keep it operating smoothly thereafter. LawWare’s sister company, LawCloud, delivers the company’s practice management software through the cloud, allowing its clients to have access to the software wherever they may be.

Having initially certified against the Code of Practice in 2013, Warren Wander, Managing Director at LawWare, believes that the certification acts as a key differentiator for the company in an increasingly crowded market. Warren explained:

“There are no doubt to the tangible benefits of certifying against the CIF Code of Practice, particularly for smaller cloud providers like us, who must often work much harder to prove their credentials to their clients and prospects. The cloud industry is incredibly competitive and with more IT providers jumping on the cloud bandwagon every day, CIF certification is an important differentiator for us.

“The Code of Practice gives us the opportunity to publicly demonstrate to our customers that we are serious about delivering quality services and that we are fully transparent and accountable in our practices. From an end user point of view, it adds an extra layer of reassurance that we will fulfil our promises and look after customers’ data, which is just one of the reasons why we are fully committed to the scheme,” Warren continued.

The CIF Code of Practice, initially launched in 2010 following an extensive period of public consultation and piloting, is a credible, certifiable tool that allows Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to demonstrate that they meet specified requirements of transparency, accountability and capability. Managed by APM Group, it aims to standardise enterprises offering cloud services to provide clarity, transparency and assurance to end users seeking to migrate to the cloud.

Richard Pharro, CEO of APM Group, added: “The Code of Practice isn’t a rubber stamp of approval. It’s rigorous and CSPs will need to assess, improve and declare their operations before they can fully meet the Code’s transparency, capability and accountability requirements. But therein lies its value to the market and, as LawWare attests, certification can provide a significant boost to business prospects. This is the third time LawWare has gone through the certification process, highlighting how it continues to see value in the Code of Practice, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.”
