Oracle taps Verizon

Offering provides enterprises direct access to the Oracle Cloud over Verizon’s high-performance network.

Oracle is now offering its customers reliable, secure, enterprise-class connections to its Cloud via Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect services enabling enterprises to seamlessly move workloads to the Oracle Cloud. 
With Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect, customers can now connect to Oracle Cloud data center sites located in the U.S. and Europe.  With Oracle’s Cloud facilities, in-region connectivity helps improve performance by reducing latency and providing strong quality of service.

With Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect, enterprises can take advantage of the service’s Software Defined Networking (SDN) capabilities to gain greater control and agility over their cloud environments. This includes consumption-based bandwidth, pre-provisioned on-demand resources, controlled application performance and varying classes of service that can be easily provisioned via Verizon’s Dynamic Network Manager.
 
According to a recent cloud research report conducted by Turbonomic and Verizon, multi-cloud deployments are growing in popularity. More than 70 percent of large enterprises surveyed currently use or plan to use multiple clouds to deliver IT services in the next three years.

Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect supports Oracle’s broader portfolio of Fast Connect services, which allow customers to establish a secure high-speed private MPLS connection between their existing IT infrastructure and the cloud compute resources on the Oracle Cloud.  The services are delivered by a set of offerings within the Oracle Network Cloud Service portfolio, designed to give enterprises fast and consistent network performance, as well as hybrid cloud deployment options.

Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect also allows enterprises to store data in a variety of settings, including a traditional IT environment, and a dedicated on or off premises cloud, making it easier to scale and meet changing business conditions.

With Oracle, Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect now offers access to nine cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, HPE Rapid Connect, IBM Cloud Softlayer, Microsoft ExpressRoute® for Office 365TM, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute®, Microsoft Azure Government, Salesforce, SAP, and Verizon Cloud and Enterprise Cloud Federal Edition) at more than 20 global peering locations in the Americas, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
