StorCentric acquires Violin Systems

With a fifth acquisition in two years, StorCentric delivers on strategic vision with a comprehensive portfolio of data management solutions to a growing customer base.

StorCentric has acquired Violin Systems, a technology leader in software-defined all-flash storage solutions. With an ability to offer market-leading performance on commodity infrastructure, the Violin Systems portfolio of all-flash NVMe SSD-based architecture expands StorCentric's all-flash offerings. Enterprise customers will now be able to address any performance, scale and economic needs of their diverse workloads with one of the most comprehensive all-flash storage portfolios on the market. The acquisition expands the StorCentric portfolio to now cover all enterprise workload demands.

This fundamental architectural change accelerates product cycles and significantly reduces the amount of investment needed for new product development, while increasing velocity. Violin's acquisition of X-IO technologies added space efficiency with de-duplication and proactive monitoring. This technology has been integrated into Violin's offerings for over 18 months.
