The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has appointed Capgemini as its Digital Transformation Partner in the UK. The collaboration focuses on developing digital engagement for rugby players, volunteers, and fans through technology and data solutions.

Under the agreement, Capgemini will support the RFU’s digital services strategy in line with its Plan 2030: More than a Game. This includes work on existing programmes to improve the reliability, performance, and user experience of the RFU’s digital platforms. The company is also expected to apply emerging technologies, including AI, across initiatives ranging from grassroots to elite levels.

Capgemini will provide expertise in AI-led digital transformation as part of the partnership. The work is intended to support the RFU’s digital infrastructure and user-facing services across the sport.

Capgemini has previously been involved in digital and technology projects across sports such as golf, sailing, cycling, and motorsports, and has ongoing engagements with World Rugby and Six Nations Rugby.

The agreement also includes initiatives aimed at supporting rugby participation, volunteering, and inclusion across communities in England.

Overall, the partnership reflects a continued focus on digital development within rugby and its supporting systems.
