NTT DATA has introduced its Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) Services Agent, a conversational service for enterprise infrastructure. The agent is integrated within NTT DATA's SDI Services and is designed to support how enterprises operate, optimise, and manage AI infrastructure.

The SDI Services agent functions as an orchestrator, triggering relevant agents in the background. Its multi-agent system operates across networking, hybrid data centres, cybersecurity, and digital workplace environments, with the aim of supporting faster resolutions and measurable outcomes.

The introduction of the agent reflects NTT DATA’s approach to infrastructure governance using AI agents. It enables enterprises to interact with multivendor infrastructure environments through natural language prompts and access operational insights.

The SDI Services Agent is designed to operate across complex, multivendor infrastructure environments and includes features that provide insights into environmental impact, supporting organisations in assessing and optimising their infrastructure.

NTT DATA’s Global AI Report indicates that 34.5% of surveyed AI leaders are investing in rebuilding core applications with embedded AI capabilities rather than focusing on surface-level enhancements. The SDI Services Agent is intended to support infrastructure requirements in this context.

The agent uses live telemetry, historical data, and policy parameters to inform actions, with the aim of supporting day-to-day operations while maintaining human oversight.
