Submer Group has announced Rubix Data Centres with the stated aim of developing AI infrastructure deployment capabilities internationally. The initiative is reported to be supported by strategic investments from organisations including M&G Investments and Planet First Partners, among others, and is positioned in response to growing demand for data centre capacity.

Rubix is described as having a land portfolio exceeding eight gigawatts across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, and as combining engineering approaches with modular design principles. The initiative follows Submer’s neocloud business inferX launch in late 2025. Rubix is intended to serve hyperscale customers, covering stages from site selection through to operational management.

The global activities of Rubix are led by John Eland, who has over 25 years of industry experience and has previously held roles such as CEO of STACK Infrastructure EMEA and Chief Strategy Officer at NTT Global Data Centres. He is joined by Alison Gutman, Senior Vice President of global business operations, who brings experience in global operations management.

Submer is known for its work in sustainable cooling for high-density computing environments, and Rubix is presented as incorporating elements such as AI systems and thermal design within its infrastructure approach. The launch reflects the company’s intention to expand AI and cloud infrastructure capacity with an emphasis on efficiency and sustainability.

The initiative is occurring alongside increasing demand for large-scale computing environments and faster deployment models driven by AI development. Rubix’s entry into the market reflects a focus on scaling infrastructure while maintaining operational and energy considerations, and is also positioned in the context of long-term investment interest in energy-efficient data centre development.

Overall, Rubix’s launch represents an expansion of Submer’s activities into broader infrastructure development aimed at supporting future data centre requirements.
