KnowBe4 has announced the appointment of Alex Callihan as its new Chief Technology Officer. Callihan, who has been with the company for over nine years in the capacity of Senior Vice President of Engineering, will be focusing on the development of KnowBe4's advanced agentic research and development.
With more than 15 years of experience in software engineering, Callihan will report directly to Bryan Palma, KnowBe4's CEO. Callihan will closely collaborate with various teams, including product management, customer success, and marketing, benefiting both AI agents and human users.
The promotion of Callihan alongside the appointment of Fran Roberts as General Manager of KnowBe4 Studios is a testament to the company's dedication to provide top-tier security solutions. This leadership restructuring aligns with the launch of KnowBe4's innovative tools like the Agent Risk Manager and AI Defense Agents (AIDA).
Furthermore, as part of the company's evolution, Mark Patton transitions into his role as Chief Scientist at KnowBe4. Patton will concentrate on special projects to help further the company's long-term vision.
Callihan commented on his new position, expressing his enthusiasm about leading KnowBe4 at this crucial juncture for the cybersecurity industry. Now, as CTO, he is poised to collaborate closely with key departments to enhance the platform's capabilities against emerging threats, including prompt injection and shadow AI.
